They have a low susceptibility to illness but some illnesses to look out for and take not of include: ectropion, entropion, hip and elbow Dysplasia, and hypothyroidism. This is all generalized and genetics may of course vary, with individuals; but these have been reported in some specimens of the breed.

Please note: Prevention is better than cure, so take your beloved Tibetan Mastiff to the vet on a regular basis…..

What a misconception, since this furry mastiff is one of the few hypoallergenic dog breeds! It’s thick, double coat only sheds once a year during a 4 week period either in spring or in summer. Weird isn’t it? So if you suffer from allergies and love big dogs, then the Tibetan Mastiff is sure to make you happy!
